The Vice-Chancellor, McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, Professor Francis Adegbaye Igbasan, singled out all members of the Student Affairs Division of the University out for honour and recognition on Saturday, 27th January, during the 2024 Orientation on drug abuse held at the University Multipurpose Hall.

The Vice-Chancellor specifically appreciated the Ag, Dean Student Affairs, Dr. Sunday Omieke, and all the officers at the Division for their effort and all the dynamic ideas they have been introducing.

According to the University helmsman, “the staff at the Student Affairs division of this great University are doing a good job. They deserve appreciation for all their daily service”.

“These men, and women at the Student Affairs Division are the best of us. They stand in 'loco prentice' 24 hours a day! They have no closing time. They spend more time with you (students) than their biological children and their assignments are purely to ensure that you conform to best practice that will make your learning and living on Campus worthwhile”.

He thanked Dr. Omieke for providing leadership that had inspired all his associates to become devoted.

He urged other members of staff to emulate the 'kind of commitment and spirit' demonstrated by the Ag. DSA and all his associates.

The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented at the event by the Ag. University Librarian, Dr. Abiola Omotosho, prayed that the good Lord would bless all members of the Student Affairs division.

Similarly, Prof. Igbasan also thanked the guest lecturer invited for the orientation, Dr. Obatomi Alalade, who is a notable Consultant Psychiatrist at the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Lagos (popularly known as Yaba Left).

Present at the occasion were: Ag. Bursar, Mr. Ademola Osanyinro; Ag. University Librarian, Dr. Abiola Omotoso; the University Chaplain, Rev. Ibiwunmi Alo, among others.
