Varsity Organizes Sensitization Seminar on Drug Abuse

In a proactive move towards fostering a healthier campus environment, McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo is set to host a sensitization seminar on drug abuse for all students. Scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the University Multipurpose Hall, the seminar aims to equip students with essential knowledge and insights into the perils of substance misuse.

Renowned Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Obatomi Alalade, from the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Lagos, will spearhead the seminar with an enlightening presentation titled, "Above the Influence of Drug Abuse." His expertise promises to offer invaluable perspectives on resisting the temptations and dangers associated with substance abuse.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, underscored the significance of the seminar as a vital component of the institution's commitment to student welfare. Emphasizing the importance of accurate information, Prof. Igbasan affirmed the university's dedication to providing students with the tools necessary to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.

With the Directorate of Student Affairs taking charge of seminar logistics, including attendance management, all students are mandated to participate in this crucial event. By fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility, the university endeavors to cultivate a community where students are empowered to make informed decisions, safeguarding their health and academic success.
